The Rosenergoatom concern confirmed that on July 16 at 15:21, a protective mechanism was activated at the Rostov NPP, which led to the shutdown of power unit No1 due to a false tripping of the generator protection.

The company has inspected the equipment and, if unscheduled repairs are necessary, is ready to attract additional personnel.

Rosenergoatom denies reports of the release of radioactive substances and radiation leaks.

Experts say that the temporary restriction of power supply in southern Russia, which occurred on July 16, is not related to the incident at the nuclear power plant.

Some sources, including the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, referring to Serge Volin, who positions himself as a retired CIA analyst, claim that a radiation accident occurred at the Rostov nuclear power plant.

According to these reports, as a result of the accident, radioactive isotopes with radioactivity of up to one and a half million curies were released into the atmosphere.

The CIA analyst also claims that the radioactive cloud is moving inland towards Saratov.

Importantly!

At the moment, there is no official confirmation of information about the release of radiation or a leak at the Rostov nuclear power plant. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also not yet reported a possible accident at the Rostov nuclear power plant.

We provide that earlier it was reported that in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation there was no electricity and there are problems with the Internet. They arose due to technological violations caused by "external impact on the power facility."
