The governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, announced that the resorts of the region are fully ready to receive tourists. He urged Russians to relax in the Kuban, emphasizing the benefits of recreation in this picturesque and popular region. However, the issue of safety remains open and raises serious concerns among potential vacationers.
According to the governor, revenues from tourism to the local budget have decreased by a third compared to the pre-war time. This downturn is negatively affecting the region's economy, underscoring the importance of attracting tourists to maintain economic stability.
Despite Kondratiev's assurances, the issue of tourist safety remains unresolved. In the first 10 days of July 2024 alone, the Krasnodar Territory was subjected to five attacks by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as a result of which 56 UAVs were recorded. One of the most serious incidents occurred at a fuel depot in Yurovka. There have also been reports of other attacks on infrastructure and military targets in the region.
The intensity of attacks by Ukrainian UAVs in June and July 2024 indicates an increased threat to security in the Kuban. In June, a significant number of attacks were recorded, making this one of the most intense periods for the region.
The security situation in the Krasnodar Territory requires close attention and effective measures to protect both locals and tourists. It is important that the regional authorities not only invite vacationers, but also ensure their safety, which will be the key to trust and a stable flow of tourists to Kuban in the future.
